| All Fabri-Kal Products Are BPA-Free |

Recent news reports may have created inaccurate perceptions regarding plastics and Bisphenol-A ("BPA") including the implication that all resin code number 7 products contain BPA. This is incorrect. Polystyrene #6 and PLA #7 resins do not contain Bisphenol-A and Bisphenol-A is not used, directly or indirectly, in the manufacture of any Fabri-Kal products, including polystyrene or PLA-based products. Several other chemical substances have been identified as possible concerns and Fabri-Kal can assure consumers that the following substances are not used as components, additives or during the manufacturing process of any Fabri-Kal products: ortho phthalates, PFOA (perfluorooctanoic acid) and latex. SPI Resin Identification Code Symbol System The "chasing arrows" symbol and resin codes typically appearing on the bottom of plastic packaging were developed by the Society of the Plastics Industry (SPI) in 1988 to identify the material from which a product was produced to facilitate sorting and recycling efforts. At the time SPI codes one through six were developed, the overwhelming majority of plastic packaging was made from one of six resins: Polyethylene Teraphthalate (PET or PETE), High Density Polyethylene (HDPE), Vinyl (polyvinyl chloride or PVC), Low Density Polyethylene (LDPE), polypropylene (PP), and Polystyrene (PS). SPI developed the code “7-OTHER” for articles made from plastics that did not fall within one of the six original resin categories. As the plastic industry has evolved, many new plastics have been invented. The generic SPI code “7-OTHER” applies to a number of these new plastics, including NatureWorks® biopolymer ("PLA"), the sole ingredient in Fabri-Kal's Greenware products, as well as other bioplastics and natural plastics. Greenware products are labeled as "7-OTHER" or "7-PLA" and "Compostable" which can be used to distinguish Greenware products from other plastics that may contain BPA. Fabri-Kal's Environmental InitiativeReduce, reuse and recycle are the action pillars of responsible packaging. Fabri-Kal is constantly testing new materials and manufacturing techniques to provide the latest opportunities for more environmentally responsible packaging. Fabri-Kal is a member of the Sustainable Packaging Coalition.
